Luka Modric, Real Madrid's star and Croatian captain, spoke about his future at the Royal Club, as well as the possibility of his country's participation in the upcoming European And World Cup.

In an interview with AGENCE France-Presse, Modertich said about his role on the pitch that "people look more at the players who score or make goals, and if they don't watch games they need time to discover those who don't do those things, there is David Silva, Xavi Hernandez and Andreas Iniesta in the past, without this kind of player not working the team, but I think the appreciation comes with time, sometimes people need time to see it, I won the Ballond and the best player in Europe, in the end, people I realized."

The 34-year-old Croatian star went on to talk about his future at Real Madrid: "At my age don't make big plans, I have one season left and I want to give everything to win something, it would be great to finish my career at Real Madrid but that's not my decision, it's Real Madrid's decision."

"Not many players finish their careers here, just a few have done that, but I want to play for more years, I want to show that I can play well and if not at Real Madrid I will look at other options."

On the possibility of his participation in the European Cup as well as the 2022 World Cup, the Croatian captain replied: "I can't say anything about the World Cup yet, euro yes, but the World Cup, we will see."
