Pochettino raises controversy over Ramos, Mbappe, Neymar, Real Madrid, and Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino said he welcomed Sergio Ramos to The French capital, stressing that he did not say no to Real Madrid and Barcelona as they say.

Pochettino spoke in a lengthy interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca about many things, most notably dealing with Neymar, Mbappe, Real Madrid, and Barcelona offer, and the possibility of joining Sergio Ramos.

On the rejection of the offer of Real Madrid and Barcelona, the Argentine coach said that things are not what they say, this is not the case, although there was a lot of talk at the time about my rejection of them, we strongly respect the teams that were interested in us."

He added: "It was not like that and of course I have reached out to the clubs, but from whom we received the convincing offer and attracted me towards him and the passion was Paris Saint-Germain, this is the perfect project for me"

Asked to remove a reputation from the coach who said "no" to Florentino Pérez, he replied: "Of course, it never happened. Clubs are always above people and anyone who can say the opposite is misplaced."

With regard to dealing with Neymar and Mbappe, he said: "The relationship with them is spontaneous and normal, we have professionalism in dealing and expect the same thing from them, we do not prejudge people and when we get to a place where we are open to change according to requirements"

"They're keen to know how you're going to be and how you talk to them, they're human beings and they have the emotional intelligence that makes them understand in any situation what you want to deliver to them," he said.

"Sometimes we react to gestures, trust doesn't come true in a year, but with a signal or a word, and we've had a positive feeling with them and everyone since day one."

Regarding Mbappe's future, Pochettino said: "Who doesn't like Killian? We talk to each other. He makes himself loved by everyone, with this smile, his face, his energy, and his constant work, at the age of 19 he was a world champion, he talked to him hard and faced him strongly, he is special and different."

On Ramos, the Argentinian coach welcomed the Real Madrid captain and the Spanish national team if he wants to join the French capital club, where he said: "After a month I find great players in the leadership within the team, the adults are able to play and live together in different projects and cultures"

"But at the same time I respect the Paris Saint-Germain strategy that existed years ago when we signed with Ronaldinho, we saw market opportunities and decided to include those who can improve what we have," he said.

"In these months, he will see what will happen with him, here Ramos will find a great club with an obsession with winning always, Paris Saint-Germain, one of the greatest of the world," he said.

Mauricio Pochettino has returned to the club with whom he has played since 2001 to return as a coach 20 years later and begin a new journey full of challenges and a lot of passion as well.
