Former Arsenal legend Robert Pires has advised Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe about a possible move to Real Madrid.

Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid during the next summer transfer window, especially as the player refuses to extend his contract with PSG so far.

"People should not forget that Mbappe is still young, he is 22 years old," Pires told Spanish radio Marca.

He added: "The most important thing for him is to play for another year with Paris Saint-Germain, before moving to Real Madrid, the pressure in Madrid is not the same in Paris, and he has to learn and understand."

On his former team's performance Villarreal, he commented: "He is my team, and I am very happy with all the good things that are happening to them right now."

He concluded: "The Spanish national team? Don't forget that my mother is from the Spanish city of Oviedo, I follow the Spanish team, and I think he has a young team."
