The defending champions continue to pursue Atlético Madrid

Real Madrid managed to complete their uprising in la Liga, defeating hosts Getafe in the postponed match of the first round of the championship.

Real Madrid beat Huesca 2-1 last Saturday to play tonight's match and helped them chase Atlético Madrid in the leadership race.

Zinedine Zidane has relied on Thibaut Courtois with goalkeepers, with Marcelo, Nacho, Raphael Varane, and Ferland Mendy in front of him.

In the middle, The Brazilian played Casemiro and his side Luka Modric and Marco Asensio, and in the attack, he played the young winger Marvin Park, Vinicius Junior, and Karim Benzema.

Things were difficult for Real at the start of the game, because of the cohesion that Getafe played especially in the first half.

Real finally translated their dominance after 60 minutes, scoring Benzema's first goal, putting his team on the cusp of a win.

Just six minutes after Benzema's goal, Mendy scored the second goal in the 66th minute with the help of fellow Brazilian Marcelo.

The result lifts Real's tally to 46 points in the second place, where he has played 22 La Liga matches, compared to 51 for the top-ranked Atlético Madrid, who has played only 20 games so far.

Getafe, on the other hand, continues its struggle, finishing 13th with 24 points, eight points ahead of last-placed Weiska.
