Benzema is finally back!

Karim Benzema is back in training for Real Madrid. Excellent news for Zidane!

The presence of Karim Benzema in the derby next Sunday is starting to become a tangible possibility.

The striker trained this morning with the rest of the squad as usual and the feelings were very positive.

Benzema worked hard to overcome an adductor injury that forced him to work alone for just over two weeks.

On Saturday he has one last training session to continue his return to form and Zidane will then decide with the player if he is fit to be present in the starting eleven against the Rojiblancos.

Benzema has improved since his adductor injury. The top scorer of the Merengue team with 17 goals, has already missed three games: the Champions League game against Atalanta and the league game against Valladolid and Real Sociedad.

In each game, Whites only scored one goal, with two wins and one draw.

While the Real Madrid infirmary seemed to be on the verge of finally emptying, the bad news returned. The Spanish club said Thursday, after the collective training session, that Mariano Díaz was injured. He will therefore be absent against Atlético de Madrid this Sunday (4:15 p.m., Movistar LaLiga).

Real Madrid has not given more details on the period of absence of Mariano, thus indicating that it is "awaiting evolution". He is expected to be arrested for around two to three weeks, however. Zidane will not be able to count on him for the matches against Atlético (Sunday, February 7), Elche (Saturday 13), Atalanta (Tuesday 16), and Celta (Saturday 20). After the game against the Galicians, it will be the international break. Mariano will be back afterward, with the hope that his club will still be involved in the Champions League.
