Eden Hazard is uncertain ahead of the derby between Real Madrid and Atlético, which will determine the merengue season.

Eden Hazard was diagnosed with a muscle injury on 3 February (his tenth major defeat since his arrival at Real Madrid) and hopes of seeing the Belgian player with the team before Sunday's derby were dashed as the club's doctors and rehabilitation staff followed the player in Valdebebas on Tuesday.

Hazard and Dani Carvajal both trained separately inside and in Hazard's case, it was far from a positive sign after being involved in a high-paced session last Saturday that included sprint and shooting training.

Zidane was hoping to use the winger from the bench during Sunday's crucial championship game at the Wanda Metropolitano against Atlético. At the moment, this ambition now seems very optimistic as the Belgian does not train fully with Real.

Hazard missed the first derby of the season at Valdebebas, a match in which Real Madrid had a comfortable success with goals from Casemiro and a CSC from Oblak.

The former Chelsea man has managed only 13 games in the white jersey this season, finding the net three times but without providing an assist.

A new episode of Hazard's nightmare as a Real Madrid player since his transfer from Chelsea in 2019 for more than 100 million euros.

Adnan Januzaj encouraged his compatriot to succeed at Real Madrid. The former Manchester United winger says he has "no doubt" that the former Chelsea star will eventually shine in Spain.

Hazard has suffered a series of injury problems since leaving Stamford Bridge for the Spanish capital. So far, it has not lived up to its high price. But Januzaj, who plays for Real Sociedad, is confident hazard will eventually make his mark in the Iberian League.

"Maybe people here in Spain don't know Eden well enough, but they'll soon find out," he said in an interview with La Liga. "For me, he is one of the best footballers in the world. I have no doubt."
